About me

- Mrs Emma Edmunds -
PGDip, BSc, Health and Wellness Coach

My intention as a Health Coach is to find goals and holistic solutions to self-identified health needs.  Encouraging others to live a healthy lifestyle through nutritional recommendations and dietary advice to benefit them and aid any requirements, prompt habit changes that are detrimental to health, exercise suggestions, and supporting overall wellness, health, and happiness!  Guiding individuals to manage their risk of disease and staying well for longer. I also have a keen interest in assisting with peri-menopause and menopause symptoms.

How my journey began

In January 2018, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer - Estrogen-Positive, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (DCIS meaning in the milk ducts).  Requiring a left mastectomy with full lymph node clearance, further treatment included adjuvant therapy; chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and 10 years of hormone treatment.

As wife and mother, it was my goal to remain as “normal” as I could and be focused on staying well throughout my treatment.  From diagnosis, I did my research into my type of Breast Cancer and how I could help myself and be as well as I could, during this difficult time.   Evidence based research highlighted the benefits of good nutrition, water intake, exercise, fresh air, and rest.  I chose to remove any processed foods and certain meats from my diet, eating more vegetables, fruits, beans, pulses, legumes, a flexitarian diet, organic when possible.  My aim was to not eat any foods that contained any bad estrogen and eat phytoestrogen rich foods (phytoestrogens found in soy and legumes provide a weaker form of estrogen and regulates your total estrogen load).  Plus drinking green tea, more water, walking outside, yoga and I even changed my skin care products to all natural ingredients without any parabens or chemicals.

Being proof that, selfcare, a positive mindset and healthy living alongside certain modern medicine can give you the strength and confidence to grow and overcome certain unfavorable situations and symptoms.  Due to my overall wellness and being cancer free, I have continued this health journey (everything in moderation, life is for living!) as I love how it makes me feel both physically and mentally, I make changes to suit my bodies needs when needed, I continue to enjoy regular exercise especially with friends and family and eliminate any stress or unhealthy habits that make me feel unwell.

Before my Breast Cancer diagnosis, my role was Clinical Research Nurse with 20 years nursing experience. I have chosen to divert my nursing skills to guide others in leading a healthier and happier lifestyle.  My years of nursing has given me core knowledge, confidence, and competence in care and advocacy.  Plus having been through cancer treatment myself, this experience has shown me to listen to my body, find solutions and notice results.  Have a purpose and an achievable goal.

With this first-hand experience, I have chosen my new role as a Health Coach to support and encourage others to achieve their health goals, find solutions, prevent disease, and strive for optimal health and longevity.  I offer 1:1 coaching with tailored coaching plans, support, and aiding individuals with the knowledge to make the right health choices for them and change certain life behaviours.

Alongside Health Coaching and wellness, I am also trained in facial treatments for relaxation, massaging the face, neck and shoulders using a lymphatic drainage technique that removes impurities and the buildup of toxins, plus nourishing and rejuvenating the skin.  Using all natural brands including Tropic products most are certified as organic ingredients, sustainable, vegan, cruelty free and carbon neutral. No nasty chemicals or hormones! The facial treatments I offer are to nourish your skin, selfcare, wellness and confidence.
